Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering and Technology (DSCET) students from 2nd Year-CSE had an exciting industrial visit to WHY Global Services. The two-hour session was crafted to provide maximum practical exposure to IT services, full-stack development, digital marketing, and vital career skills. The visit sought to create a bridge between academic learning and industry expectations, giving students a perspective on how IT solutions make businesses function in this day and age.
With a warm welcome from Ms. Monisha (HR), the learning session started with an introduction to WHY Global Services' key IT solutions. Ms. Monisha explained to the students the company's expertise in software development, cloud solutions, and digital transformation services, thereby giving them an understanding of the role that IT organizations play in ensuring the success of businesses.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Mr. Bala lectured on Full Stack Development, about the role of full stack development in the present web applications era and various career opportunities in it. He described the front end and back end technologies and emphasized the importance of hands-on experience and skills relevant to the industry. He made students aware of how full stack developers are in high demand in the industry and how they can equip themselves with those requirements for upcoming career opportunities.
Next, Mr. Bala continued with the practical aspects of Digital Marketing & Google Analytics. He explained how companies leverage digital platforms for growth, customer acquisition, and performance measurement using data analytical tools. He further showcased Google Analytics in action, demonstrating how companies track user behaviour and optimize their online presence. The session helped students appreciate the synergy between IT services and business success.
Career Growth and Goal Setting
Ms. Nithaya started with a presentation on goal-setting and communication skills. She talked about the need to set short- and long-term goals as it is a systematic approach to learning and self- improvement that will shape their future in the profession. Furthermore, she spoke about some ways to communicate effectively, as communication is critical in any field they want to pursue.
Interactive Activities & Industrial Exposure
To engage students further, the visit involved a fun role-play action game in which students performed specific actions while their classmates guessed what they were. This activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and interaction, combining education and fun.
The industrial visit at WHY Global Services was not just a learning experience; it was also an eye-opener for the students to grasp the practical aspects of IT Services, Software Development, and Digital Marketing. It also glimpsed the students in terms of career options, the expectations of the industry, and the skills one would be working upon.
