WHY Global Services recently facilitated an Industrial Visit (IV) for its students of over 200 from Saveetha College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (SCALF). The visit will give students an insight into industry exposure that will help them to understand corporate operations, career opportunities, and expectations from the industry.
Highlights of the Industrial Visit:
Session on Full-Stack Development & Data Science
- Conducted by Mr. Shyas, this session gave insights into the high demand for Full Stack Development and Data Science.
- Discussions were held on how the growth of these two fields would be important to IT in the future, and the skills required for aspirants were also listed.
- Different roles within the IT industry were explained, highlighting those of Software Developer, Data Analyst, AI Engineer, and Cloud Specialist.
Interactive Career and Interview Preparation Session
- This session was run by Ms. Magimai, who was concerned with interview skills, workplace etiquette, and career growth.
- Guided students on the Do's and Don'ts in Interviews, confidently answering questions, and the best methods to apply for jobs.
- Provided a stepwise guide for preparing resumes and how to build a professional image.
Hands-on Activities and Engagement
- Fun-filled and interactive games were conducted to enhance students' teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Interactive question-and-answer sessions were held for students to have doubts cleared regarding career paths, industry expectations, and technical skills.
- One-on-one dialogues allowing students to converse with professionals on real-world IT industry challenges and the opportunities they present.
Exposure to Corporate Culture & Work Environment
- Students were able to view various business processes and technological advancements occurring in a formal setting.
- Saw first-hand, live demonstrations of work methodologies across different departments.
- Gained insight into how IT companies work, the team structures, and the importance of collaboration and innovation.

The industrial visit worked with a transformative experience within the academic knowledge and exposure to practical application in industries for the students, leading to a greater comprehension of career opportunities as well as equipping themselves for the expected challenges in their careers ahead.
